A full day out, celebrating Summer, in the Marlborough Wine Region

It was on a good old Summer road trip that the inspiration for this one day Retreat began to bloom!.. think shopping, cafes, wine tasting and a long leisurely lunch on the terrace of an award winning Winery!
Over the holidays my best friend and I met in Blenheim for an impromptu ‘gathering’, a girls weekend away - the best kind! I jumped at the chance to show her around this idyllic town situated in the heart of the wine growing region of Marlborough. Framed by mountains either side and dotted with wineries throughout the Wairau valley with vineyards as far as the eye can see. As always when we get together, we made the most of the time we had.. we cafe hopped, sought out gorgeous boutique stores, met some amazing people and spoke with so many enthusiastic and welcoming winery staff and owners, passionate about their vineyards and the joy their wines bring to those who taste them! We found hidden little gems and gorgeous little finds that I can’t wait to show you!
Our holiday will forever be remembered as a Summer filled with sunshine and good times with magical memories made as we biked through wineries, sat amongst the vines with a delicious cheese platter, deliberately savouring every sip of our chilled Rosè, the warmth of the sun and blue skies above, laughter all around and those Summer vibes putting a smile on the faces of us all..
As I drove home I couldn’t stop thinking about the experiences we’d shared and the fun we’d had.. and so began the journey of re-capturing the essence of our Summer holiday, in designing a Retreat that I know you too will love and enjoy as much as we did! Life moments.. we are here to not only make them, but to also create them.
Marlborough.. you are a special place, with so much on offer.. always worth a weekend away.. but we can also enjoy a taste of it all, in one very special, ladies day out!
Cost - $195.00 per person
(Guests must be over 18 years of age to join this Retreat)

Here’s what’s included:
- Private Transport to/from Blenheim
- Departing Nelson around 8am / leaving Blenheim around 4.30pm
- We begin our day at one of my favourite wholefood Cafe’s with a tea/coffee/kombucha and a sweet treat!
- Enjoy a morning of shopping, with me as your guide, visiting a select few of my personal favourite Boutiques and Blenheim’s iconic Thomas’s Department Store that is home to many of New Zealand’s most well known designer brands along with International labels we love!
- Exclusive store discounts for ‘Retreats by Design’ guests
- Our afternoon includes a long leisurely 2 course lunch with wine or bubbles at the Award Winning ‘Cloudy Bay Vineyard’ with stunning views across the gardens and winery.
- We have just enough time before we head home to visit one of my regular favourites.. Forrest Estate Winery, for an exclusive wine tasting experience of their outstanding wine collection.
